Using FX Composer 2 shaders in DirectX?

Ok I've googled it, I've looked at the nVidia user guide and now I know I MUST be missing something. How can I use fx shaders created in FX COmposer 2 in DirectX applications? I can use some, for example the Phoung shader but that's fairly easy, just get a handle of a few values and modify them as appropriate. Some of the shaders are a lot more tricky, some don't even make sense as they have no values you can modify for a 3D world application. So my question is really simple, how do I use those shaders in directx apps? Or am I not supposed to do that and simply admire them in the gui as nvidia seems to imply?
