VoiP tools now that DPlay is deprecated

I've read the FAQ and explored HawkNL but I'm curious as to what other people are using for VoiP implementation. You could get DPlay up and running on a voip application in about 100 lines of code + your gui. Has anyone had experience with a robust voip solution in a similar vein, or has anyone done the research and just fell back on the old DPlay solution? Any help would be appreciated.

DirectPlay is deprecated, and has been removed from the DirectX SDK. You should not write new code on top of DirectPlay.

At work, we use Speex (the codec) and sent it in UDP packets, with a central server for routing, and a small de-jitter buffer on the clients. Works pretty well.
