Google Earth camera control?

Hello all, I would like to write in OpenGL a camera control resembling the one in Google Earth. I'd like to zoom in on any point on the surface of a planet and then orbit around this point so that I can look at it from any direction without loosing the up-orientation. I have tried using these parameters:
struct SVertex
    GLdouble x, y, z;

double dAzimuth_deg;
double dElevation_deg;

SVertex vtxCameraPosition;
SVertex vtxLineOfSight;
SVertex vtxAimingPoint;

I know how to update the line-of-sight vector and also how to determine the aiming point on the planets surface. But I just can't figure it out how to move everything as in Google Earth. I'd appretiate any advice. Thanks! T
