WSAIoctl provides functionality to retrieve many extension network i/o APIs' address with dwIoControlCode set to SIO_GET_EXTENSION_FUNCTION_POINTER, and my question is when get API address by WSAIoctl, does the first parameter(SOCKET s) necessary to be a valid socket? Does the retrieved API address has any relations to a valid socket? If it is, do I need to retrieve API address for every socket I created respectively? Just a little confused on this point, any help is appreciate. Thanks in advance.

I'm going to guess that no, it doesn't relate to the socket at all. However, the function might still require a valid socket (If the function checks for a valid socket before checking anything else, it's likely t oexit out if given an invalid socket).

There's no reason why you'd get a different function pointer back for a dicfferent socket - although maybe if the two sockets were different protocols (E.g. UDP / TCP/IP).

If in doubt, try it and log the address you get back [smile]
