I recently bought a new computer and it came with windows vista home premium 64-bit operating system. I am fairly new to programming and am wondering if I will have to program differently because it is not a 32 bit operating system. If so can I still progam in python? If I need to I will switch to another language seeing that I am not very far in any particular one. Google did not help me out whatsoever.

I have Vista Home Premium 64bit installed here, and Python seems to work just fine. I don't see why it wouldn't work. I've tried many other languages (C++, java, C#, Scheme, Oz, O'Caml, Ruby, Prolog, Haskell, Perl) and with none of them did I experience any difficulties.

Thus, no need to worry, and my congratulations for choosing Python as your programming language, it's an excellent choice for learning.
