openGL & state machines
Hi,
Someone told me a while ago that OpenGL functions - basically - like a glorified state machine.
I just spent the last hour reading an introductory tutorial to OpenGL and Windows and can find no such link between OpenGL and an ordinary state machine.
Anyone care to dispell or confirm this, or just add their 2 cents?
thx,
ply
Well there isn't just 1 state. The OpenGL state machine is made of a bunch of states for texturing, lighting, vertex buffers, depth testing, alpha blending, and so much more.
