If you haven't heard the news, Google has just made public their internal framework for data interchange. Has anyone checked it out yet? How do you think it stacks up to other serialisation methods/formats - boost, xml, etc?

We're using something similar where I work and in my humble opinion it's the best thing since sliced bread :-) It serializes to binary or xml files, depending on what you need.

Looks very cool. They describe their encoding strategy here. It looks to be highly optimized to minimize message size, so it would be appropriate to use it for multiplayer games.

Which is a nice surprise, since most enterprisey libraries are way too bloated to be appropriate for games.
