OpenGL opengl translate

Hy. My question is this: Can i add a x,y and z component for translate polygon in opengl ? then if i have to precalculate the component i go much fast,or not? So , for a open space is not good , but for move a character will done? Thanks.

If you mean you want to translate a polygon just use glTranslatef(x, y, z) in MODELVIEW matrix mode. Since the vertices are transformed by the matrix anyway (even if just the identity matrix is set) you shouldn't get worse performance than precalculating the translation.
