Rolling ball on a contoured surface

Hi. I was wondering if anyone had any links to articles/books discussing the maths and physics of a ball moving on a 3d contoured surfaced. For example, a golf ball on a putting green, or the "ball" in Super monkey ball. Thanks.

you might want to look up a bit of vector calc. I think you just want to apply an acceleration in the direction opposite of the gradient of the surface to a ball on this surface.(assuming we have gravity, otherwise you would not be bound to the surface.)
