getting started in 3d

Do you have a modeling program, will it be for games, are you using OpenGL or DIrect3D, do you want to learn the programming side or modeling side of 3D, any information on what your planning on doing would help.

You still haven't indicated your technical knowledge. You can get started right away with OpenGL by getting the OpenGL Red Book. That said, if you don't have the right prerequisites, you won't get past the first few pages of the book.

EDIT: I revise my post. I looked at your posting history (incidentally, I answered some of your previous posts). You are very much a beginner. You chose to begin with C++, and your past posts suggest you haven't gone past the very basics.

You almost certainly do not want to start with OpenGL, or 3D right now. Not even 2D. You do not have the prerequisite knowledge to learn and make use of the graphic APIs.

If you are getting frustrated by the pace of learning, consider that your choice of C++ is one reason why you have to go slower than other beginners.
