"None", "Use the language's", "Everything" is a possible set of answers (the pure Object-Oriented C# one). There are many other possible sets of answers. Ultimately, it all depends on your language, your objectives, and your skills—there's no point in suggesting an all-object-oriented C# solution wrapped around XNA and optimized for heavily-shaded indooers first-person-shooters if you're doing procedural programming in C with OpenGL for a real-time-strategy game, is it?

First you decide the type of engine you need , Like indoor / outdoor. Or a combination of these.. There is a book "real time rendering".. Reading that book can help you , I think.
