Shadow Map bigger than Window

My shadow map texture is 1024x1024. My Window is only 800x600 though. I do: glViewPort(0,0,1024,1024); RenderToShadowMap(); glViewport(0,0,800,600);//Reset viewport The problem is the copied part of the image that goes outside of the bounds of the window, are chopped out. I assume this is because my buffers are still only drawing to what I set them as (800x600). Whats the way to fix this (other than FBO's, cuz I dont have them yet).
