Hi Everyone, I had just started to learn Graphics programming........Please tell me what should I learn to begin writing simple graphics programs (2D & 3D) ......Currently I'm learning the Win32 API........I am using the Visual C++ 2008 Express Edition Compiler........Since it doesn't support MFC & ATL i can't learn & use them now......So is MFC neccesary for Graphics Programming? Or Should i learn the Raw Win32 API & Switch over to DirectX?....... Advanced Thanks for ur advise..........

No MFC is not necessary for graphics programming.
You can stick to Win32/GDI if you want but I suggest learning Allegro or SDL instead.
