OpenGL Saving Shadow Map to file using C#

Good evening. I'm planning to do a new project for a friend of mine, who plays Second Life. The project is a shadow map generator for models (which is now supported by Second Life dubbed as 'Sculpies'). I've seen the tutorials on how to do shadow mapping, but now I need a method to save this map to file. I've seen a previous thread on how to possibly grab the map (Search up 'OpenGL saving textures'), but when it came to explaining how to save it, it was somewhat not explained. On top of that, I'm using C# using the Tao Framework, so I unfortunately need a different method. I am willing to use other plug-ins to achieve the goal of the project. I know that I may be either having to find a way to read sculpt maps or to just have it open OBJ files. From that point, I want the shadow map to be cast, where I then save it to file in any format I can use (preferably BMP, PNG, or TGA). Can anyone assist me with this problem?
