How would I go about getting information from a website for use in my C++ program?

Some thoughts off the top of my head:
1. Ask the webmaster to give it to you.
2. Copy it and paste it.
3. View source, then copy and paste.
4. Hit Print Screen, then paste into a graphics utility.

By your mention of LIBCURL, I suspect you wish to download something at runtime. The basic idea is to make an HTTP request to the server through a socket, retrieve the response, and store it in a local buffer or file.

The sane way to do this is to use one of the many libraries that exist for this exact purpose. cUrl would be one of them.

Otherwise, you could do on your own the work already done by cUrl and similar libraries: read the HTTP 1.1 RFC and implement a simple client.
