B-Spline and NURBS problem on t = 1.0f

In B-Spline and NURBS there is a problem at t = 1.0f. When t = 1.0f basis function is 0. So what I must do is: if(t == 1.0f) t = 1.0f - EPSILON; EPSILON is 0.00001f I built my program without this and every time I loose the last vertex. Basis functions are always 0 so my vertex every time is at (0.0f, 0.0f, 0.0f). Why is this? Why B-Splines and NURBS dont work at t = 1.0f?
