Primitives are not full color

I'm having a hard time finding what I'm doing wrong but my primitives (tried points and lines) are not as bring as I want them to be. I ask for full white (1.0, 1.0, 1.0) and get some gray. I have textures with white in them and they show as full white. But the primitives are not full white. I'm very new to OpenGL and I'm sure I'm missing something. I figure it might have to do with lighting or something. Help would greatly be appreciated. Thanks

When you try to draw your pure white primitives, do you turn texturing off? Because if texturing is still left on, the current texture could be affecting the primitives. Also make sure that lighting is turned off because, as you said, that could affect the color as well.
Awesome! That did it. thank you VERY much Simian Man!
