Hi guys, ive been rather confused while ive been using blender lately. Ive tried to start doing some 'organic' modeling, faces etc, and so ive come accross several different approaches, my first one was box modeling and some others and then i came across one which involved starting from a spline which was effectively the cross section of the face (the actual name i dont know maybe it doesnt have one!). I kept reading on forums etc that blender didnt support splines, however i am able to create bezier curves in blender, starting with an inital 3 control points but can be extened to as many as nessersary. Now from tinkering around with blender i know that the curves are made up of many bezier's therefore to me that makes it a spline, am i wrong? could anyone confirm that yes infact blender does support splines. It dont think it actually effect me in my modeling if they are splines or not as I seem to be able to do everything i want to, but i would like to know. Thanks guys :-)

I'd call that a spline. There are many different basis functions for "splines" and the other comments you read may have been referring to splines with a different basis, for example it doesn't seem to support traditional B-spline basis functions. Personally, I find Bezier's more intuitive though you do get some nice benefits with other basis functions.
