I have been playing around with socket programming etc. Everything seems to be fine on local machine my ip is 192.168.2.2 from my modem I use port 11235 which can lead out from modem (gave permission) I tried using both, INADDR_ANY which leads out to 0.0.0.0 and 192.168.2.2, with port 11235, which both works on same machine, different terminals i can interract myself on my pc, but when i try my global ip from www.whatismyip.com with port 11235 to connect well i can't do it and its where i am stuck at I use simple tcp routines, I just want to learn how i can host a server that can be reached globally. (I use fedora 9 now)

Try forwarding the port 11235 from your modem to your machine IP using the modem configuration UI
