[OGRE] Best way to create and load geometry?

I've started creating a simple scenegraph editor for my OGRE based project, just something allows me to load the various meshes I want to use in the level designs and create stages with them. But, I was wondering, if I create the entire scene in Blender to begin with, and then export it to OGRE using the OGRE plugin for Blender, will either OGRE or the Blender exporter break the scene up so that the engine can perform frustum culling on the scene? I'd rather do it that way as it would save me the time of writing a level editor, but I'm concerned about the engine being unable to split such an export up correctly.
