Just wanted to know if there''s something similar like .dlls under Windows for Linux? I''m designin'' my 2nd server version at the moment and I want to know how good this works under Linux, what I''m supposed to watch out for etc. etc...

The .DLL equivalent for Linux is called a shared library (or dynamically loaded library, depending on when the library is loaded). This document describes how to create and use them.
