Need to decompress JPG''s as textures in OpenGL. I know, seems useless cause BMP is so much better looking...but still, anyone know how to decompress or where to get the source to decompress them. Programming with Visual C++ 6. Also, loading info straight out of a ZIP file...possible?

Go to Intel web site and download their free ijl JPEG library, it decodes fast, quite easy to use, and comes with C++ source code to help you implement it. When you convert your BMP''s to JPEGS set the quality to 100%, I use Acdsee 3.0 and get great results.
My game uses IJL for the backgrounds, check out my game to get an idea of what IJL is capable of if you like.

As for Zip files, there are some free Zip libraries with source code included, cant remember where to get them, try searching ''+Zip +Library'' in AltaVista. -
