Basically, within a windows application I want TextOut to print what is returned by getText(). Can anyone help me out? I think I''m forgetting some C++ basics, like how to return an array. I know I''m supposed to return an address or something but... char& getText() { char *ptr; char Text[] = {"Okay to Kill?"}; ptr = Text; return *ptr; } TextOut(hdc, 10,10,getText(), strlen(getText()));

strlen´s parameter is a char pointer. References are NOT equal to pointers.

Just return ptr and it will work well.

Does it write "O" as you have it done?

What the hells!
