problem setting up camera

Hi, I am trying to create a 2d tile based strategy game in XNA. I already have the rendering of the 2d tile based world works. But to make the 2d game more interesting, I am trying to implement a 3d camera that will be lock to the 2d game board. Everything in the game will be in 2d sprites, there will be no 3d models in the game (maybe I will add some 3d models if possible for the buildings and trees etc). On the flat game board, the character sprites will be tilted to match the angle as the camera. I think the display will look somehow looks like Paper Mario, except that you can rotate the camera in the up and down direction. I am quite new to this concept, so not sure how to call this rendering method. Can anyone guide me through this? Thanks! [Edited by - dannielum on September 16, 2008 8:08:07 AM]
