Hi, I am an indie game developer from Greece and I have completed and released my general purpose 3D level editor for games: http://moraldigames.com/UDropPro.html It focuses on easy way of use and portability among different game engines. You can load and place your ready 3D models (.X, .B3D, .3DS) into your virtual world within minutes. There are a lot of other futures such as defining your textures, animation sequences and custom properties for each entity. The project started for personal use but during development I decided to offer this tool to the public because the final result was quite acceptable. The most important aspect of the application is the use of sqlite ( http://www.sqlite.org/index.html ) file format for storing its files. There is full documentation how to load and use these files from your favorite game engine (C/C++) It is based on DirectX 7.0 I hope to offer a useful tool for you.

@Petar Titelski: Thank you for your kind words!. If I will see that this tool is going to be popular I will proceed in the near future in the next release with much more futures but keeping the GUI and usability simple as much as possible and of course it will be based on DX9.0c and above

Yeah it would be good to add features like "NPC dialog (conversation) editor", scripting objects, monster AI, 3d sound placement, and maybe simple game example (source code) that loads map file and you can walk around.
