I have recently learned that Atari is apparently set to invade iPhone apps. In particular, all iPhone games with gameplay similar to breakout have been "kindly asked" to quietly "go away". Looks like there goes the neighborhood.....

Interesting. Do you have the source for this?

Who was it that asked them 'kindly' to 'go away'. This seems like something Atari would do, but was it Apple that did this?

How can they possibly do that? Unless they have somehow patented the gameplay for Breakout, they have 0 legal claim over games with similar gameplay.

Maybe I'll go write a Breakout clone for iPhone now...
