Hello I want to program games with SDL and OpenGL. Until now I used C++ as programming language. But Java seems a better programming language to me. I've found a Java Binding http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=124821. But the latest release of that binding is 3 years old. I don't know if it would be wise to use that? The original SDL for C++ seems to be still updated often ... What is your meaning to this? What would you recommend me?

There's no real reason to use SDL in Java, since there are equivilent (and better suited) java libraries which do the same thing (and are more regularly updated).

If you were using the 2d aspects of SDL, then look into Java2D. If you want something to replace the windowing, input and OpenGL parts, then you want LWJGL.
