just a few questions on them, 1. can you use varibles to change the shape? 2. can you use while statements?

2) Only when you first create them. It stores exactly what you did the first time and you cannot change vertices relatively. You can translate, scale or rotate the entire contents but you cannot change the contents.

Try vertex arrays, they allow you to alter variables at runtime.
