c# opengl vs c++ opengl

For utilizing the OpenGL API, what would be the better language to run it with? C++ has been a standard for a while, however C# has a cleaner feel to it, and has garbage collection. Any input would be helpful.

Makes no difference. OpenGL is OpenGL. You are still calling the same functions and sending the same data to the GPU. Use whatever language you feel more productive in.

If you go C#, I have heard DirectX is the way to go. Is there a reason you're choosing OpenGL over DirectX for C#?

(If my statements are wrong, I apologize, I am going off of memory atm).

Im choosing opengl for now, as I have learned a bit of it in school, and I have two books on it. So I wanna stick with one, and may learn some directx after it, see what I prefer.
