I'm trying to learn vector and matrix math but I'm not totally getting it. Is trigonometry the only prerequisite for learning this?

Vector and matrix math, what do you want to learn? What are you trying to do with it?

Vector math is like this. If you have a 2D vector then you have (x,y) values for each "vector". When doing math operations with vectors you just have to know to group the x's together and the y's together.

So for example:

V1 = (3,5)
V2 = (-5,1)

V1 + V2 = (3-5,5+1) = (-2,6)

Matrices are a little more difficult because you have rows and columns of numbers and you have to make sure you match up each with the appropriate vector to be able to do math operations together.
