I'm getting ready to enroll in the Game Institute. Is there anything a former/current student can inform me of regarding the workflow, user-friendliness or whatever? One specific question I have is: Do any of you know how flexible they are with exceptions? I have a copy of Maya 2008, and that was so back-breakingly expensive that I do not want to pay more for 3DS MAX as their FAQ mentioned. I sent a ticket, but I want to hear experiences/advice from other students. Just any info that can be casually explained (As opposed to the extensive knowledge base that I'm sure could be shrunk a great deal) would be great.

I am in the C++ Game Dev Module I and II's classes. Even tho it is online classes, you have to teach yourself everything. You have forums and a once a week chat with the instructor for a couple hours for answers. I wish it was more structured with homework and everything with deadlines. You have to really be motivated to teach yourself through the course.
