Hey guys, so I've been developing a MUD in Python and just recently discovered the MVC concept. I really like it, and think it might help speed up development of my MUD some. I've used Django a little bit and since it's a Python based MVC project, I was wondering if I could convert my MUD to use Django or if it's strictly for web programming? Any tips/thoughts?

The Django framework is designed in such a way that dependencies are very minimal. You could use just the ORM framework or the template system as standalone systems. I think there are interesting possibilities for using Django's ORM and template system in a telnet-based MUD. You could probably bastardize Django's controller system to fit within the usage scenario of a telnet-based MUD, but I don't think there would be much advantage in that.
