Hey all, I was wondering how I could use render targets to bind the output of a pixel shader to a texture. I understand the concept of rendering to a texture but not sure about how to do it with HLSL.

you can not beind a speciffic shader to a render target

as you see you can swicth between diferent effect in a render target

but not switch defferent rendertarget ,

the rendertarget in xna is contructed in a way , that when you are finish render all your models

you have to get the content of the rendertarget to a texture

and then the rendertarget is automatic clear for you

it is done this way , becourse the xbox360 does not share memory between render target unles you use multiple rendertarget

like the nvidia and ati cards share video memory between render target

go to xna creators club there are a lot of smaples
and www.ziggyware.com there are even more samples on rendertarget and hlsl

hope this helps
