Is it possible to have a windows gui with directx in it. If you don't know what i'm talking about look at this picture, did they do that with windows or directx, or both. http://cryengine2.com/images/ce2gallery/20_lua_script_driven_AI.jpg It looks like windows to me... Also, if it is possible, how would you do it?

Yes. This is typically done by creating a custom control, and embedding the control in the main window. The DirectX renderer can then simply use the handle of the control to render to its client area.
