Hi I am trying to compile a project ( 2D game - some header and source files) in Visual Studio 2008 (DirectX SDK (March 2008)), but it doesn't happen because of the error message: "c:\program files\microsoft directx sdk (march 2008)\include\atlbase.h(65) : fatal error C1083: Cannot open include file: 'atldef.h': No such file or directory". ATL - Active Template Library ? What should I do ? Do I need to link atlbase.h or copy and paste from somewhere ? Any advice would be appreciated.

ATL stuff is only included in ms visual studio standard edition or higher, i recommend finding an alternative for watever function your trying to call from that header, for example when i was trying to compile one of the mesh tutorials from the directxturoial I needed a function to do a string conversion from atlbase.h (at least i think thats what i was doing) but since im not willing to pay for a buncha headers and stuff the final solution was to turn unicode off. this works for me, and has worked so far. basically if your not willing to pay your gonna have to work around atl stuff
