I understand that 1 of the restriction of CopySubresourceRegion() is that both must be of the same type. Meaning, from my understanding, if the source is a texture2d, the destination cannot be a texture3d. However I have don't quite understand the CopySubresourceRegion() function: For CopySubresourceRegion() is it ok for the dimension and other properties to not match? For example, the sample count do not match. My guess is that it doesn't matter as directx probably just do a memory copy from the source to the region.
