Hey guys, I have a grade 12 computer science assignment which involves designing and developing a program. I have chosen to make a brick breaker style game. I have to get feedback from clients about what features they want, so my question to you is: What makes a good brick breaker game and what features would you want to see in it? thx in advance

Different brick types. Pickups. High-scores. Multiple levels. A level editor. Competitive multiplayer.
thanks

anybody else?
Toohr covered the main portions, definitely those.

I have always liked fancy particles shooting in every direction when you hit a brick =P
I'll see what I can do for ya ;)
also, should I have a points feature?
Something creative and innovative, dares to be different, tries many things new...not just another lazy clone of a clone of a clone of the 22 year old Arkanoid.
Exactly. There are just too many "basic" arkanoid clones. You should think of a cool fresh concept.

I also did this. Check my pong clone here:

Hope this helps!

Something crazy.. your paddle orbiting round a circular ball of blocks (like circle pong)
Quadronoid was pretty cool.

It removed the three walls and replaced them with bats.

That's about the most original one I've played.
