I got a fontmap: My fontmap Problem is that the font is flat and I want all the characters to look like this: (Inset emboss and Inner Shadow) My fontmap Is there an automated way of doing this effect on all the characters in the fontmap? I have access to photoshop if it works with that program.

Well, Photoshop has Filter->Stylize->Emboss, but I don't personally like that one.
What I would do is import the bitmap font on a transparent level (or just open it in photoshop if it already us that way) Then use select color to select all the font, add a transparent layer and add a layermask allowing only your selected area to be visible. Fill the layer with black. Use contract selection 1 or 2 pixels. Now delete the selected area from the black layer (not from the layer mask). Now lower the opacity of the layer as desired and optionally add some blur. This should theoretically produce a shadow around every edge of every letter.

Really not sure how well either method would work on the male and female characters and the rectangles made out of dots though. Depends how many pixels thick they are in your font map - you might want to scale up the original first. Or, duplicate your font layer on top of everything you have already done, delete the ones that worked okay, and repeat the process adding a thinner shadow to the remaining ones.
