Is "Texture2D g_tex[512]" a valid effect variable declaration?

The docu is not that detailed, effect compile doesn't say anything, but FX composer 2.5 compiler says "arrays must be either numeric, structure, string or shader". I am still not (yet) in a level where I can test this, so who is right? Thx, Vertex
