Hi, just joined here, figured this would be the right place.. :) I've been using php for 3.5 years or so, but my heart goes out to desktop applications (especially games). Recently I started with C#. Now I've got 2 questions. What is the basic setup of a program? In C# with M$, I get this basic MVC. Form1, is my form. These handle events in my form. I create a member containing the "game" object. In this object there is a timer, my PictureBox etc. Now, this seems usefull for small games, but how is this done with larger games? Second question, If I want to create a game using a tile system, like a tile is a corner for land, and it can contain some sort of object, like a unit, what would be my best approach? Create a grid system?

I'm not sure if you've heard of XNA at all, but it makes game programming a lot easier in C#.

Making a grid can be done using an array.

Check out this tutorial site.

XNA is really big right now and you will find a ton of resources to guide your way.

Good luck!
