OpenGL OpenGl 3.0?

So I've heard of something called OpenGL 3.0? Is this the includes and libraries for writing OpenGL applications? I read that OpenGL was a specification and wasn't something you were able to download, so then what are the include files and libraries that you use to write GL apps?

Start at the Start.
Keep reading until your eyes are sore.
Then read some more.

For dev, Glew is a good place to start.
It has support for GL 3.0 extensions.
You will need a G80 or equivalent type card.

Also openGL 3.0 just came out, the only driver that support it is the new nvidia driver, and its support for openGL 3.0 is beta. Also, my understanding, is that you have to use some settings menu to enable opengl 3.0 when you do have the drivers..

Just a suggestion but maybe a list of those getting started started with OpenGL sites should be listed in a sticky here? A lot of the information floating around on the net isn't really that helpful and in all my searching that opengl wiki page didn't come up. So maybe a sticky for this forum would be useful? Link to that getting started page, maybe the NeHe tutorials and the lighthouse3d ones...

Thanks for the update. I hadn't realized that it was this new. It's nice to know you most likely won't have to update your OpenGL apps from version 2.
