Hi everyone, I'm under Vista, when I start dxdiag I have directx 10 installed. But when I check the version in the registry I have the version 4.09.00.904 which corresponds to directx 9.0c and not 6.00.6000.18000 which corresponds to directx 10.0. Do you have any idea ? Thanks, Greg

Don't quote me on this but it could be a compatibility thing for cards that want DirectX 9. There could be another registry location that identifies 10. If dxdiag detects 10, then everything else should that supports it.
Just checked here and it shows DX10.

backseatgreg; do you have a card with D3D10 support installed?
I think so,

It's a brand new laptop. I'm coming back to PC after some years on Apple :D (but I'm a windows dev).

I have a NVIDIA GeForce 9800M GTX.

Anyway... I'll stick to directx 9 I think. I'm still not sure if it's worth developping on directx 10.

-- EDIT I can run DX10 samples so I have a dx10 card
