Hi all! Maybe not the best forum for this, but I am trying to use an embedded Windows Media Player in my game for displaying introductory videos and cut-scenes. What I am using something based on an ATL sample I found (which works perfectly as is). The problem I am having is that put_URL() does not seem to work (the method that actually loads a video file and begins playback). It returns S_FALSE (success, but not ok) and just sits there. Since ATL is very sensitive to threads, I have one dedicated thread that controls the entire Media Player interface (creation, destruction, playback control etc.) that receives signals from the rest of the system, with events that are identifiable by strings (e.g. "open:<url>" will open a file from <url>). The file I am trying to open does exist, the path is correct (absolute path) and it runs well when opened in "normal" WMP. I've found lots of people that have had the same problem, but no solution to it... hence why I am asking here. Has anybody got any ideas?
