trees and blending

i'm having some problems with displaying trees correctly. texture of leaves have alpha-channel. and i use glBlendFunc(GL_SRC_ALPHA, GL_ONE_MINUS_SRC_ALPHA); when drawing a tree. the problem is that whenever there's a leaf and a leaf behind it, the leaves behind are blended to invisible, and only parts that are visible are the ones that's not behind any leaf. if i turn off depth testing the trees look semi-transparent.
