Unit circle rotation vs. XNA sprite rotation

Hi guys! I'm a bit confused as to why clockwise rotation in XNA is positive, while the unit circle specifies rotation going counterclockwise as positive? To get the correct results using cos and sin, I suppose I have to 'inverse' angles? (360 - angle) Thanks in advance!
