Sky without a skybox?
Any ideas on how to do a background without a skybox?
i was thinking of drawing a single poly in ortho under everything else, and textureing it, then just modifying the texture coordnates as you moved the camera?
or how about drawing a bunch of GL_POINTS of different sizes for a starfield, then moveing them when the camera moved?
well, if you''re doing a space scene, (with stars) then a particle engine could work. a sky box could potentially look better and is definately easier to impliment. (not that a particle engine isn''t )
