Need help with Space Invaders & finding erros

Heyyy, I'm just re-creating Space Invaders and I've run into a bit of a problem. I've got to the point where there are the invaders moving across the screen shooting at me and I can control the ship and fire bullets at the invaders. If the invaders are hit they are destroyed and removed. The problem is... The game freezes up randomly while I'm playing it. I say randomly because it doesn't appear to be anything in particular that is triggering the game to freeze. I can play for a random amount of time, kill different amounts of invaders (sometimes none) and it just freezes. I can't debug the problem because debug mode doesn't come up with an error, it just freezes and then I have to close and restart the game. Any ideas or help would be grealty appreciated! Cheers.

Hello,

Try on another computer to check it's not an hardware problem. If not, check for memory problem in your code.

Debugging doesn't always include having to use a debugger. It could be printing out data to the screen or to a file, checking timers are working correctly (which sounds a bit like your problem) or using assert etc.

If it freezes ONLY on release mode, then it *should* be a memory problem. Probably using a var before setting its initial value.

Ok well thanks for the help guys but this is still not working. I think it could be a memory problem but how exaclty do I find what it causing it? There is quite a bit of code and I don't know where to start.

About timers? I'm not exactly sure what you mean? I don't think I use them. I'm using XNA 2.0 if that helps.
