.x meshes

Hi! I am looking for some help on .x meshes. I'm wondering how one would extract animation/motionPaths, transparency/alphaBlending, materials (such as blinn, phong, etc), and point/direct/ambient lights from a .x file and also to apply it in a C# DirectX application. Also, when applying the glow shader, lighting must be enabled to see the shader, correct? I'm also looking for a tutorial on lighting, such as adding point, direct, and ambient lights. If you are willing and able to help, please let me know! Thank you very much!
