The only question I have is: why are you making it in RPG maker. Because I think it sucks, you shud do it in Gme Maker or even in realy programming language.

i gonna use rpg maker for the first one, and then possibly make the next one using VB to code it all.

You tell us a lot about the story and characters but nothing about the actual gameplay. For having lurked there, I realize that the RPG Maker communities are infested with anime freaks that tend to like Japanese RPGs for their anime-inspired stories and characters rather than the actual game, but most people don't think that way.

What kind of special feature does your game have? I can guess that it's a traditional RPG, but even the most classic RPG has something unique about it. Do you have a special resource system for spells instead of the traditional mana? Is there a deep character customization system where you can tweak your party to adapt it to your style of play? Do you have a unique way of leveling your characters? Does your battle system uses the traditional menu-based input, or do you have a different battle system, like XenoSaga or Tales? Even if it's not as big as what I have enumerated, there's gotta be something special you can tell us.

About using RPG Maker XP...
I've programmed my 2D RPG from scratch in C++ and I took me at least 5 years to program everything I need (the engine + game editor). Of course, I wasn't working full-time, but still... So I understand him for doing it in RPG Maker. Now that my engine and map editor are fully coded and I can do the actual maps and events, I would never go back to RPG Maker, but if RPG Maker XP, the one that allowed you to script your game in Ruby, was released at the time I began programming this, I might have used RPG Maker instead.

It's certainly possible to make a great game with RPG Maker XP, it's just that the engine has a bad reputation since it's for amateurs and for every great game, you get like 10,000 poor ones. Not to mention that the *commercial* games made with RPG Maker, the ones that are expected to be the pinnacles of RPG Maker development, are absolute garbage. (Like Aveyond) RPG Maker XP (dunno about VX) lacks a lot of fancy graphic functions such as screen waving, distorting, 2.5D, 3D, masking, etc, and if you try to do it yourself with the graphic functions, your game will run at 5 FPS, but other than that, it is perfectly suitable, and great game art can compensate for a limited engine.
Well i dont like anime much, so i am steering clear from anime art in the game.

I guess my systems would be unique because they wont use alot of rpg xp systems.

1) i'm trying to make it so u can decide what position your characters fight while in battle. as well as being able to transform your character in the game.

The battle system will be side view is what we got for now. we are still designing it.
