Why does IXACT3Engine::GetRendererCount() fail?

the IXACT3Engine was created successfully, but when i called GetRendererCount(), the HRESULT returned as XAUDIO2_E_DEVICE_INVALIDATED; this problem happens only on little computers. mine is ok. the sdk i use is March 2008, and the one who has the problem runs the SDK's XACT tuturials will fail, too. is there anyone have the same problem?
